A tripled population means thousands of newer roofs
Westfield's population roughly tripled between the 2000 and 2010 census counts, driven partly by growth around the 400-acre Grand Park Sports Campus, so most Westfield roofs are less than twenty-five years old — but that doesn't mean they're immune to storm damage, since central Indiana's severe-weather corridor produced 18 confirmed tornadoes statewide on a single night in April 2025.

The relatively small cluster of homes tracing back to Westfield's 1834 Quaker settlement and 1848 incorporation carry older roof systems that predate most of the subdivision growth around them — worth a closer look given how much longer those roofs have been exposed to Indiana's freeze-thaw cycles and severe summer storms.
